Nature in the home

A fellow blogger 'little green shed' is doing a series of posts with the theme nature in the home... so i thought i'd join in and post a selection of images I've shared on instagram.
I'm a sucker for snapping flowers... pretty posies, plants or wild flowers. And i also love having them in my home, the best way to cheer up any room i think!

You can see other contributors over on her blog.

(the pictures are from my phone, so a little fuzzy. :)

and then she was 2...

the day started with her favourite breakfast....
followed by a tea party with a handful of her favourite little people. :)

(i scored the little vintage dress and cardi from... yep, a charity shop!)

She did very well for pressies and lots of love & cuddles.
We love you Anouk, you are funny & sweet and a little light in our lives. xxxxxxx

a mothers day gift...

my mother's day gift to my mum this year, inspired by one of my new favourite bloggers... Lulastic. [click link to see the recipe]

[melted the coconut oil a little too much, so had to wait for it to harden up again so that i could mix in the lavender as they all floated to the top!... also tried to use sugar instead of salt, but it was too soft, so swapped back to salt which is a little more coarse for better scrubbing!]

While I was at it, i made myself some too! :)
It's a really lovely idea.. I'll definitely be doing it again.

my new little space for all things crafty & creative.... it's just a shelf for now, but it's a start.

I've always enjoyed making, creating and generally fiddling around with crafty things. But in recent years (well since having my 2 girls), it's been a nice little outlet for me as a stay at home Mummy, alongside my photography.

One day I'll have something more like this ... now wouldn't that be nice.

Hooray it's March!
Well, February wasn't too bleak in the end, we had some sunshine dotted about here and there and managed to stay warm in front of the fire as much as possible. But of course, it's nice to know we're heading into Spring and there shouldn't be any more days as cold as this one.....

We froze our a*$@£^ off on a recent trip to a local national trust property... 'Hanbury Hall'. But despite the sub-zero temperatures it was a fun day out with my sister who was visiting and all our brood.

My sister & I ... we don't look much alike do we?

(Anouk stood looking at this cherub for quite some time... made me laugh)

Much needed hot chocolate stop, to warm the cockles.

My frozen fingers could barely snap anymore photos than these, but you get the idea.
So, March is a busy one for us, friends & family visiting and a certain little girls' 2nd birthday.
Lots to look forward to.
